Free of Charge - Initial calls and consultations

Very often, I am able to provide enough guidance for you to do things on your own or to give clear instructions to whoever does your book keeping.


I do not charge for this service currently as I want to help as many Sole Traders as possible to avoid the cost of going digital when you don't need to.


I may need to revise this service to accommodate groups rather than individuals but for now, please feel free to arrange a call.

Set Up Deposit - £150 - non-refundable one-off payment

During initial calls and meetings, either in person (if you live in the South West) or on Zoom, we discuss your requirements and agree on a plan. I then ask for a £150 one-off deposit for setting up your cash accounting system and hard copy files.


This is a non-refundable payment which includes everything we need to do regarding initial queries, registrations, providing proof of ID, preparing documents for interviews and so on.

Monthly Book Keeping - from £350 p/a

If I am completing your monthly accounts and annual returns using only your bank statements and mileage (for example), this takes less time and qualifies for my minimum annual book keeping charge of £350, increasing in £50 increments depending on how much paperwork and administration you need processed each month (recording receipts, creating invoices, etc).


As a general guide, I rarely charge more than £550-£650 a year for full one-to-one support combining various different services. We have agreed on a price that you feel happy with before you pay your set up deposit. The cost of the work is paid on completion or in quarterly increments. Accountants and high street agents could charge this for an annual returns with an extra £50 p/m charged for monthly acccounts - all subject to VAT which I do not charge for.


Without monthly accounts, home office expenses and cash receipts can be easily missed and often are. This can increase your tax liability considerably so if this has been the case for you these last 3 years, you could be due a sizeable tax rebate.

Universal Credit Claims - £50 p/m

This includes any assistance required to register and make monthly online claims which we can do together over the phone. I also prepare paperwork for quarterly interviews and each monthy charge is included in your claim every month to ensure you are compensated.


I use your Universal Credit accounts as a basis for your monthly accounts and annual tax returns for HMRC, as the latter needs additional information. This keeps costs down by not having to run two different sets of accounts through the year and ensures Univeral Credits and HMRC are provided with the correct information.

Late Returns, Tax Rebates and CIS Refunds

I can tell from looking at your previous returns whether you have paid too much tax in any one year. If this amounts to more than the cost of having your previous year's account/s re-submitted,we can agree a charge (see Book Keeping above) and I will claim the tax back for you.


If you are currently paying £100 fines for late returns, espeically as a CIS sub contractor, all I need are your bank statements, mileage and expenses to create a set of monthly accounts and submit your return/s using printed paper verions of back-dated Self Assessment returns.


This means you do not need to set up an online HMRC account and we can calculate the tax that has been paid on your behalf in order to recoup it.
